Job Title: Senior Associate, Project Engineering Job Code: 17060Job Location: Huntsville, HQJob Schedule: 9/80 Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off -Job Description: -The Sr. Associate, Project Engineer performs and/or coordinate propulsion program tasks in conjunction with program management. Under -general -direction, implement design and analysis tasks and oversee special studies and experiments. Coordinate ballistic, thermal, and structural analyses, as well as perform post-test examination, analyses, and reporting while supporting the program technical lead. -Essential Functions: -

• Intermediate professional with practical knowledge of job area.
• Works under moderate supervision to set objectives for own job area.
• Communicates with contacts inside and outside own team to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures, identifies and addresses changes within own job area.
• Works to achieve operational targets with some impact on departmental results.
• Provide imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions to a wide range of technical problems involving the conventional utilization of engineering techniques.
• Read, interpret, and write specifications and technical documents.
• Prepare technical and design requirements in support of project goals.
• Keep current in relevant technologies and methods in support of project assignments.
• Provide direction in problem investigations and resolution across functional areas.
• Understanding and/or leads Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) process.
• May be assigned Earned Value Management duties.
• Travel up to 10%. -Qualifications: -
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related engineering experience.
  • Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related engineering experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related engineering experience. -Preferred Additional Skills: -
    • Two (2) or more years of experience with solid propellant propulsion projects.
    • CAD knowledge.
      • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
      • Communicate with technical and non-technical professionals at all levels.
      • Analytical and problem solving skills.
