Equipment (DME) Tech is to provide DME services to the patients of
Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee. Formal Education / Training:
Clinical background or Athletic Training education preferred.
Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapy Techs, Personal Trainers, and
all allied health professionals encouraged to apply. At least one
year of experience in a medical setting with some prior Durable
Medical Equipment or similar experience is preferred. Equipment and
Skills Training: Clinical work is performed under the general
supervision of a licensed patient care professional. Competent in
the use of standard medical office equipment and medical supplies
including computers with appropriate medical software, facsimile
machines, copying machines and telephones. Orthopedic medical
practice office. Ability to read, write and effectively communicate
in English. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS # Fit patients for Durable
Medical Equipment (DME) as directed by Physician, Physician
Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner. # Responsible for entering
charges for DME that is dispensed into the Electronic Medical
Records system. # Use of Don Joy's Motion MD system for inventory
tracking, and set up Rental agreements and tracking systems. #
Triage/multitask based on needs and priority of a high volume
clinic. # Attend to patients post operatively to dispense post-op
required equipment and educating depending on the physicians order
and prescription. # Duties also included any other requests from
the DME Coordinators, CEO, Clinic Manager or Coordinator,
Physicians, Clinical staff and patients that included
problem-solving, critical thinking, and ensuring the clients are
always satisfied.
